Your location and forecasts

We use the location you choose, or your device location with permission, to calculate sunset times. Your saved location stays in your browser until you clear site data or choose another place. Requests to our server contain coordinates; Open-Meteo receives nearby geographic sampling points for weather. Place searches are sent through our server to Open-Meteo. We don’t archive your forecasts or create a location history.

Your account

Google and Firebase Authentication handle sign-in. Firebase stores your basic profile, email, and authentication records. Your session persists in this browser until you sign out or clear site data. We use your account to unlock the weekly outlook. Delete your account from the forecast page; Google reauthentication confirms it is you. We don’t maintain a separate user database.

Optional analytics

Only if you allow it, Google Analytics uses cookies to measure acquisition, forecast views, sign-in conversion, and return visits. We don’t send names, emails, precise coordinates, search text, or your Firebase user ID to analytics. Campaign tags may identify the marketing link you followed. Aggregated reports represent consenting visitors only. You can withdraw consent below; this stops future collection and removes this browser’s first-party analytics cookies. Event-level Google Analytics data is retained for two months. We also use Vercel Speed Insights after consent to measure loading speed, responsiveness, and visual stability, with URL query parameters removed.

Service providers and requests

Vercel hosts Sunset Predict and processes network and security logs, which may include IP addresses and request URLs. We keep tokens and credentials out of application logs. Google/Firebase and Open-Meteo process information to provide their services. Their processing may occur outside your country. We do not sell your personal information.
